The Wrong Crowd in association with Soho Theatre present
From acclaimed theatre company The Wrong Crowd, creators of inventive, playful and compelling new theatre (Snow White and the Happy Ever After Beauty Salon, Swanhunter, Hag, The Girl with the Iron Claws), Kite is a poignant love-song to the wind, freedom and the joy of play.
Stuck in her Grandma’s obsessively tidy flat, a recently orphaned girl discovers a kite which comes to life and takes her on a wild adventure. Little does she know that Grandma has her own brand of magic and the wind will bring them together in ways they never would have imagined.
Inspired by the world of indoor-kite flying and stories such as The Snowman and The Red Balloon, Kite is a play without words, with originally composed music, dance, puppetry and of course kites.
This show is followed by a meet & greet with the puppets
Age guidance: Children aged 7+ and their families
Please note: There’s no swearing or nudity, but the show centres around a young girl whose mother has recently died, and her and her grandmother’s process moving through grief. The show is full of magic and light, and ends with optimism”.
