Collar & Cuffs Co presents

A little tale of epic feelings and how to handle them.

It’s a big day in the Kalahari desert: Little Meerkat is finally ready to take on her first lookout duty. However, whilst trying very hard to watch over her family, she falls asleep and wakes to find them all missing! Little Meerkat is overwhelmed by a Great Big Panic, however with help from a Wise Monkey and a Kind Elephant they work together to feel calmer, think through the problem, and to find those missing meerkats.

Multi-sensory musical performance suitable for Early Years and children aged 0-7 years, young people and adults with complex needs; uses Makaton signing, puppets, materials and music sourced from the Kalahari region.

For Education

This performance and workshop teaches children (and their parents, carers, teachers and support workers) what is happening in their brains and bodies when big feelings hit, and provides core strategies for managing them; based on Triune Brain Theory.

Based on the storybook by trauma parenting expert, Jane Evans, and performed by actors with specialist experience in child development and regulation.

Interactive workshop following the performance exploring sensory resources for Calm.
