Clay Club: Making Plant Pots

Clay Club: Making Plant Pots

Join us in the community event space at The Hat Factory Arts Centre for a fun-filled and family friendly ceramics workshop learning how to create your very own terracotta plant pots - what better way to welcome in the spring?!

The session will begin with a demonstration talking you through the process of creating and decorating your own plant pots using hand-building techniques so please do arrive on time so as not to miss it!

All the clay and equipment required will be provided - just bring yourselves, an experimental attitude and some clothes you don’t mind getting a little mucky!

This workshop is an ideal, manageable project for all ages to get to grips with clay - but you can really push yourself by scaling up and going big for a more challenging session!

You will have local ceramicists Faye Munroe and Snail Adams on hand to help you build and embellish your plant pots - please do bring along any small items or textures you think may add to your piece!

After the event we'll take your creations to get fired in a kiln, where they'll become a lot stronger and long-lasting!

Please allow 4 - 6 weeks for works to be fired and ready for collection! - keep an eye on your emails for updates - we will only hold your work for 2 months from the workshop, if not collected by then we will have to repurpose and rehome wares so please come back for your work!

As we’re making Plant Pots this month, it’s not necessary to glaze them, however if you’d like to we offer ‘return to paint’ sessions as well as a glazing service. Follow us on instagram @lugus.ceramics for updates on these events or email us for more info: lugus.ceramics@gmail.com

Please do get in touch if ticket prices are a barrier for you and we’ll see how we can accommodate you!

All children must be accompanied by an adult.
