Clay Club: April

Join us in the community event space at The Hat Factory Arts Centre for a fun-filled and family friendly ceramics workshop playing and creating with clay!

You will be provided all the clay, tools and basic hand-building techniques to enable you to design and make your very own egg cups! This easter themed workshop is an ideal, manageable project for all ages to get to grips with the material of clay and create your new fav breakfast companion! The skills you’ll learn can also be transferred to little bowls and vases which you’ll also have the opportunity to create if you so desire.

No experience is required, just bring yourselves, an experimental attitude and some clothes you don't mind getting a little mucky!

You will have local ceramicists Faye Munroe and Snail Adams on hand to help you realise your wackiest ideas and ensure your creations will be kiln worthy!

After the event we'll take your creations to get fired in a kiln, where they'll become a lot stronger and long-lasting! Please allow 4 - 6 weeks for works to be fired and ready for glazing. When they’re ready you can either simply collect your bisque-fired pots or, if you choose to glaze them which will give them a bit of colour and make them shiny, food safe and water-tight, you can either book on for a glazing session, where you will have a rainbow of underglazes to decorate your pots as you wish, or, for a more affordable option, you can choose one of our readymade glazes and we will glaze your work for you.

Please do get in touch if ticket prices are a barrier for you, our email is lugus.ceramics@gmail.com

All children must be accompanied by an adult!
