Health Information Week

Health Information Week is a multi-sector campaign to promote the good quality health resources that are available to the public.

This week aims to encourage partnership working across sectors and benefit all staff and the public by raising awareness of the resources that are available to them.

Meet PHIL! Accessing Health Information Online

PHIL, the Patient Health Information Librarian from the COMET Library at Luton & Dunstable Hospital, will present a talk on 'Health Literacy' and how to become an 'Informed Patient'.

Previous Projects

Cityread London 2018 – One Book. One Month. One City.

Tue 1 - Thu 31 May

We’re inviting the town to join in with a capital-wide book-group, arts & literature festival during the month of May; encouraging as many people as possible to read this year's selected book choice The Muse by Jessie Burton.

As well as things to see and do in London, this year Luton will be joining in, holding events based on the many themes included in the book. There’ll also be the chance to get your own copy of the book in a mass giveaway in the town. More information on specific events will be available from your local library as we approach the festival.

African Caribbean Ancestry

As part of Cityread 2018, renowned genealogist Paul Crooks will be holding a talk about African Caribbean ancestry.

Mental Health Awareness Week

Mon 14 -  Sun 20 May, All Luton Libraries, Please see individual branches for opening times. 

To mark Mental Health Awareness Week our Libraries will be highlighting how our 'Books on Prescription' collections and other resources can provide reliable information and help improve general mental health and wellbeing. 

Our Libraries also welcome the public to come into their local branch to find out what help is available locally.
