We're implementing a new library computer system and have some important information we'd like to share with you about Luton Libraries Online. We hope the new system will improve your Luton Library experience.
Our existing website will stop working from as early as 2pm Friday 1st March. This is to allow transfer of data to the new library computer system.
Renewals: Sunday 3rd March to Thursday 7th March. Between these dates staff will be using an offline backup system to issue and return books, but will be unable to look-up your account or search the catalogue. All items already on loan will be set to a return date of 19th March or later so no items are due back during this period and you will not incur fines.
We also recommend that you delete any bookmarks or favourites linking to Luton Libraries Online. If you have any questions about this please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Most library services are free, there are some services where there is a small charge. There are fines for any items which are not renewed or returned on or before the due date. If you have any queries, please contact email@example.com.
To renew items, visit any library in Luton with your library card, or renew online. You will need your library card and PIN.
If someone else is waiting for an item you have borrowed, it cannot be renewed and you must return it as soon as possible. You can renew items up to a maximum of 5 times, then they must be returned to a library.
If the book you want is in stock in any Luton or London Libraries Consortium library, you can reserve it free of charge (if you are notified by email), by visiting or phoning any Luton library, or via the online catalogue. If you prefer to have a letter notification when your book comes in, you will be charged 60p per item.
From 15 August 2016, you will no longer automatically receive printed reservation notices. If you received letters before, you will not get them after 15 August unless you inform us that you would like to still receive them. Notices sent by email will continue to be free. If you wish to receive letters a charge of £1 will be added to your account. Please note that if you have more than 7 items overdue or awaiting collection you will receive multiple notices, charged at £1 per notice.
