The Film Factory Partnership presents a Culture in Conflict: Satire screening

Widely considered to be the Marx Brothers masterpiece Duck Soup turns on relations between two fictitious countries at the point of war and the rat-a-tat-tat speed of the word play and physical antics that target self-regarding pomposity.

Age guidance: U

Running time: 70 minutes

Part of the Culture in Conflict Film Season

Each year, Culture in Conflict screens a short season of distinctive films that challenge religious, social and political oppression. They raise issues that affect us all and are directly relevant to our communities in Luton.

This year, we explore the ways in which humour can undercut political nostrums and expose humbug through the absurdities of satire in The Death of StalinDr Strangelove, Duck Soup and Borat.

Guest speakers will introduce the films and lead audience discussions after the screenings. Expect controversy and lively debate.
