Sponsored by Bagri Foundation. Sinfonia Verdi present

Master of Sarod Amjad Ali Khan and Sinfonia Verdi bring you Roots of Fire! -  A ground-breaking new piece of music combining the traditions of the east and west.

Join us for an evening celebrating music from two distinct cultures with the world’s most famous sarod player and the UK’s most versatile orchestra, conducted by David Murphy.

Amjad Ali Khan is the world’s most famous sarod player, Indian cultural icon, and leading proponent of creating music that breaks all musical boundaries.

David Murphy’s expertise in the traditions, practices, and techniques of music from both east and west were shown in Bagri Foundation’s ten-part series: The Music Room.

Luton-based Sinfonia Verdi is a versatile orchestra featuring virtuoso musicians specialising in breaking exciting new ground by performing traditional classical repertoire and newly commissioned work in collaboration with musicians from diverse cultures.

Funded by the Bedfordshire and Luton Community Foundation’s London Luton Airport Ltd fund. Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England
