Luton Film Factory presents

East is East, the award-winning and hugely successful comedy opens our South Asian film season with a tale about a multi-ethnic family in Salford.

George Khan (the late great Om Puri), a Pakistani Muslim and his second wife Ella, a British Roman Catholic run a popular fish and chip shop in the neighbourhood and have 7 children.  

Family tensions mount as George obsesses about arranging marriages for his children who see themselves as British and reject Pakistani customs of dress, food, religion and living.

Directed by Damien O'Donnell. Featuring Om Puri.
