Luton Beatz Lab: September

Calling all music enthusiasts in Luton! Whether you are a beat-maker, sound-designer, producer, or spoken word artist, or just enjoy music - get ready for a series of incredible live electronic and acoustic beats at the Luton Beatz Lab.

Luton Beatz Lab returns to the Hat Factory Cafe with a Heritage Special with guest artist Andrew Page aka raxil4. The September edition will be a part of Hat District Heritage Lates at the Hat Factory celebrating the National Heritage Open Days with special performances which will reimagine the sights and sound of the town and the country that was into an audio visual poem. This event is supported by the Curating Luton Project.

raxil4 is multi disciplinary sound artist Andrew Page, specialising in analogue electronic dronescapes, acoustic audio phenomenon and installation. He has performed live all over Europe, many of his performances have been in non traditional venues, often choosing to play spaces with character and interesting acoustic qualities, such as caves, churches & water towers. He has also performed live and installed durational works in galleries such as Tate Modern (London), The Barbican (London) & others. Some of his work has been discussed in classes on composition within the Royal Academy of Music. The first 400 releases of his back catalogue now reside within the British Library Sound Archive.
