The Film Factory Partnership presents a Culture in Conflict: Satire screening
Sacha Baron Cohen stars in a mockumentary that pokes fun at American culture as well as sexism, homophobia, anti-Semitism and jingoism.
Age guidance: 12A
Running time: 84 minutes
Part of the Culture in Conflict Film Season
Each year, Culture in Conflict screens a short season of distinctive films that challenge religious, social and political oppression. They raise issues that affect us all and are directly relevant to our communities in Luton.
This year, we explore the ways in which humour can undercut political nostrums and expose humbug through the absurdities of satire in The Death of Stalin, Dr Strangelove, Duck Soup and Borat.
Guest speakers will introduce the films and lead audience discussions after the screenings. Expect controversy and lively debate.
